Daniel 9:1-19 Praying For The Nation

In Daniel’s study of the scriptures, he realizes that the captivity of Israel to Babylon was prophesied to last 70 years, and that time is drawing to an end. His response to this realization is to turn to God and pray. He declares that all of Israel has not kept the commandments that the Lord had told them to keep. He concedes that they were warned that something like this would happen if they did not keep the commandments. Daniel calls upon God’s mercy and reminds Him of his covenant with his people.
